The annual Sea Pie supper held by the Cachalots (the Southampton Master Mariners) held at the City Cruise Terminal at the beginning of February is becoming a regular event for the band. After playing the guests in to dinner the band played a concert for the enjoyment of the almost 600 guests attending. Much of the programme had a nautical theme as befits such an occasion.
After the speeches and presentations the band came back with the Shantymen to perform a few sea shanties and to finish off the evening with Rule Britannia and Land of Hope and Glory. The band were well appreciated as always. As has been the case for the past several weeks the weather was particularly unpleasant on the evening and it was pleasing to see so many people brave the conditions.
