1933
1933 proved to be an outstanding year for the Band’s contesting success. Competing in the ‘A’ Section, the Southampton Albion Silver Band won both the Winter Contest and the Summer Contest.
These victories demonstrated how far the Band had progressed since its re-formation only five years earlier. Under Bandmaster Mr. A. Halestrap, the Band had developed into a successful contesting ensemble, and Ernie Allen recalled that many further successes followed.
