With the end of the Second World War, the Southampton Albion Silver Band was ready to welcome back members returning from military service. Not all of the former members rejoined the Band, however, and rebuilding its strength required considerable hard work.
The foundations laid by those who had kept the Band going during the war provided an opportunity to begin again. The post-war period therefore marked another important stage in the Band’s survival and development after the disruption of the war years.
