On the 28th June the band were due to play at Bournemouth bandstand. The forecast was for heavy isolated showers throughout the day. On the occasions when the band has performed at Bournemouth before when the weather has been poor they end up playing their concert to one or two passers by. They were therefore concerned that this might be a repeat situation. However, we encountered no showers throughout the day and in the main the sun stayed out and it meant that there were a good many people able to enjoy the performances of the band both in the morning and afternoon.
The band were able to relax at lunchtime on the lawn in front of the bandstand.
The two concerts consisted of the usual mix of bandstand favourites including a couple of Kenneth Alford marches, musical favourites, film themes, jazz classics and a few classical pieces. The concert was well received by the appreciative audience.
